AGNONA APARTMENT: THE LUXURY ITALIAN LABEL’S FINE NEW HOME

AGNONA APARTMENT: THE LUXURY ITALIAN LABEL’S FINE NEW HOME

New season, fresh space: after a stint in the Beletage of its desirable Charlottenburg address, Italian fashion house Agnona has moved back into its original apartment on the ground floor — twice the size and fitted out with a new, opulent interior. Custom wall textiles in neutral tones, hand painted with delicate flowers complement Mid Century furniture and low lighting, allowing Agnona’s sartorial offerings room to breathe. The brand, which started out as a purveyor of fine fabrics to haute couturiers like Dior, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent, has since become a prêt-à-porter label, today under the creative direction of Simon Holloway. In its new Berlin store — the “Agnona Apartment” — customers are invited to browse through items on gilded racks, take a seat on elegant low-slung seats to peruse hefty tomes of fashion photography for inspiration, and of course try on new season finds that catch their eye. Agnona’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection is a nod to the pastel world of David Hockney, and pops with vibrant gradients and California-inspired tones joining florals on kimono coats made from the world’s finest “Century Cashmere”, silk crêpe de chine and shiny viscose dresses. The look is relaxed, sensual and made for movement — embodying the kind of summer we want to have. (Text: Anna Dorothea Ker / Photos (clockwise, from left): Pamina Aichhorn, Agnona, Pamina Aichhorn)
