ANDRÉ M. WYST ON THE FIRST BERLIN TWEED DAY

ANDRÉ M. WYST ON THE FIRST BERLIN TWEED DAY

Why would anyone want to spend your only day off dressed completely unfashionable on a dated bicycle? Because it’s fun! And because there is hardly any other way to slow down in style… The “Tweed Day” or “Tweed Run” is a graceful and amusing cruise, a joint jingle and honking, old fashioned picnic, tombola and a little dancing (at the Ballhaus) to rap up the event. Search your basement or your friends for the oldest bike you can find and browse your wardrobe for tweed pieces. A bike horn can be purchased for 5 Euros at Gendarmenmarkt, the tour’s starting point. Details and route can be found here and here’s a video from the original tweed run in London.
