If you’re craving for a good ol’ fashioned American breakfast, look no further than the “California Breakfast Slam” at Lagari in Neukölln. Though the bar/restaurant itself is not sophisticated nor romantic, the food definitely makes up for the lack of ambience. Luckily we managed to get the last table on the corner, a wobbly little one, since the benches were all taken. Everything on the menu sounds mouthwatering: fluffy pancakes topped with fresh fruits, perfect eggs florentine with a huge lump of roasted potatoes on the side, huevos rancheros, and two eggs plate with medallion pancakes. We were a party of four but our orders managed to satisfy another friend who happened to pass by and decided to join us. After the feast we felt tubby but happy. I would say it’s a great choice for an after-party breakfast too. You must be patient on the weekends however, since the place is very crowded – or simply reserve a table in advance. NT
