CERAMIC KINGDOM — CLASSES & COMMUNITY AROUND THE WHEEL

CERAMIC KINGDOM — CLASSES & COMMUNITY AROUND THE WHEEL

In May 2017, with one organic twist of fate, performance artist and ceramicist Madeline Stillwell took what was going to be her new solo studio space and transformed it into a full-on ceramics collective: Ceramic Kingdom. Located in one of the last original warehouses left in Neukölln, the space is part of the Agora Collective and, although it’s located in the basement, the windows allow plenty of light to shine through — spotlighting the numerous works in progress lining the shelves. Leveraging her previous teaching experience, Madeline started offering classes on the five pottery wheels in her studio a few months after opening. The small class sizes ensure that each student gets the attention they need, so beginners can truly thrive. Interested in getting your hands dirty? Get to know the space first, by heading to their studio sale this weekend (Fri-Sun 1.-3.12.17), taking place in concurrence with a ceramic focused contemporary art exhibition “Fault Lines” organized in collaboration with Agora Collective. From classes to pay-by-weight kiln firing, even exhibitions and pottery sales, Ceramic Kingdom is a unique space where the love of ceramics can be seen, felt, and shared.
