Long, lazy, boozy brunches set in inspiring surroundings? Sounds like our kind of Saturday. Since summer 2014, Sophie von Oswald has been hosting her roaming breakfast club, Das Brunch, in some of the most exciting locations around town. This Saturday it’s time for round nine in Wedding’s Silent Green Kunstquartier, a former crematorium. An all-day breakfast menu is se rved from 10am onwards, offering a vegan, vegetarian or meat-inclusive brunch plate inspired by the Persian heritage of von Oswald and her sister, Xenia, with whom she runs the events. This time around, think poached eggs or a black bean breakfast burger, sumac pickled onion, Moroccan spiced chickpeas and asparagus. Then there’s challa french toast doused in vanilla spiced rhubarb, cardamom butter and maple syrup, coffee from Mars Küche and a Bloody Mary bar. Arnaldo & Milena Buchholz will provide the soundtrack to the day. The concept is flawless, the execution effortless and the vibes good all round. We only wish Das Brunch took place every weekend.
