GORDON — A RECORD STORE & CAFÉ SERVING ISRAELI CUISINE

Who wants to be rushed while digging through records?  Welcome to Gordon: a vinyl store and café in one. Doron Eisenberg and Nir Ivenizki offer albums from their own labelLegotek Records as well as select electronic tunes here. But that’s not all, because they are also great cooks. The menu offers Israeli classics, such as Shakshuka and Sabih. Bourekas, sandwiches served with hard boiled eggs, and the Swedish ginger ale by Naturfrisk, found only here throughout Berlin, make a surprisingly good match. The vegan chocomonster bar is made by their neighbor and is a sweet treat that goes perfectly with their coffee from the Barn Roastery or iced teas from ManuTeefaktur. I’ll be coming back for sure, for an early coffee with a rugelach (Jewish croissant) or for healthy and hearty lunch. Although Gordon’s stylish interior design with heavy emphasis on wood was all self-built in time for a soft opening in mid August 2014, the grand opening is tomorrow. Come by and be entertained by cool tunes and some tasty hummus. (Text: Nina Trippel / photo: Sasha Kharchenko)
