GOURMET GARAGE — YOUR ONE-STOP LOCAL EPICUREAN SHOP

Ready to take your dinner party hosting to the next level? Next time you need to stock up on ingredients, liquor cabinet refills or condiments for the finishing touch, head over to Gourmet Garage: a brand new delicatessen in Kollwitz Kiez with a personal touch. Freshly opened in early April 2017 by 30-year-old Philip Bachmüller, the deli brings together a hand-picked range of fine small-batch gourmet producers, around 70% of which Berlin-based. You’ll find classic local brands such as Crazy Bastard Sauce and Berliner Sommer alongside intriguing epicurean delights like truffle-infused tomato ketchup or Hemptastic: a THC-free lemonade made from cannabis leaves. The Garage’s name and its palette-filled interior concept hark back to the time Bachmüller spent in Brooklyn. Now that he’s back in town, he’s aiming to bring the deli concept down to earth, ensuring no product in store costs over €35. Yet another reason — or five — to keep buying local.
