You’ve probably never heard of tigernut flour or treated yourself with a deliciously rich black bean brownie, but Rosenthaler Platz’ newest café is here to change that. Through its daily-changing menu and unique event program, Hermann’s is set up to become a hub for holistic, approachable conversations around the global future of food. Airy, spacious, and outfitted with fine Scandinavian furniture, vibrant plants, and plenty of varied seating options for working, meeting, or eating — the menu focuses on sustainable ingredients used in unique ways and the curious will be satiated by not only the food, but the accessible information around said ingredients. Named after Hermann Bahlsen — the grandfather of co-owner Verena Bahlsen — who founded the Bahlsen food company in 1889, Hermann’s has the history that will surely only help them inform the future. This Sunday (22.10.17), the café is playing host to The Sustainable Brunch — Berlin Edition with Abi and Sadbhd, the minds behind London’s supperclub: The Sustainable Food Story. See the menu and get your ticket to enjoy a sustainable English breakfast in conversation and interaction with like-minds, or keep your eyes on their Facebook page for upcoming events that are sure to be as tasty as they are intriguing.
