With sunlight becoming faint and wintertime sadness approaching, many are at a loss when it comes to waking up on time. Currently open for funding on Kickstarter, Berlin-based startup Kiën (the makers behind Sygns neon-light installations) has created an intelligent lamp able to emulate natural daylight. By simulating the spectrum of the rising sun, wake up naturally rather than to a ringing alarm clock in the dark. Smart lights can also be installed to create an intimate atmosphere at an event, or to generate ideal lighting conditions for a photo shoot. All of the lamp’s components are 3D-printed, while brightness and color temperature are dynamically adjustable via an app. No more excuses for running late.
