Since August 2017, Kreuzkölln’s Dion & Gefolge has been supplying its Kiez with niche local and Italian delicacies — from fine wines and spirits to pastas, sauces, and small treats like decadent chocolate truffles. The pricing is fair and the concept is refreshingly undefined: convenient store, supermarket, event space… “We want to open up the shop for local matters, so we’re making it available as a platform for creative people and artists,” co-founder André Ebeling explains. While you’re free to wander through the tightly curated selection of Mangalitsa ham, homemade pickles or fine sardines to pair with your favorite smoky whiskey, you can also sample your way through the assortment during one a tasting events — regular occurrences that are listed on their Facebook page. Whether you stop by for an on-the-go refreshment or pick up ingredients for a weeknight dinner at home, Dion & Gefolge is an inviting and enticing culinary destination.
