FRENCH COLD CUTS AND VEGAN SOUPS: HOW BRUT SERVES LUNCH

FRENCH COLD CUTS AND VEGAN SOUPS: HOW BRUT SERVES LUNCH

The popular neighborhood bar and restaurant on Torstrasse serving French cheese and cold cut platters along with drinks in the evenings has a new face. Brut has now become the new lunch spot on the block, serving beautiful French and German mix dishes like Eisbein sandwich and quiche with a salad. Their daily soups are vegan and all produce used is local and organic, except for the cheese which is delivered directly from France once a week. But local network is just as important to owners Maud Cassagne and bar manager Bénédicte Berna: bread is delivered from Zeit für Brot and their original blend coffee is from Bonanza. No longer a night owl, it looks like this place going to be the new daytime hangout for many. (Text: Rei Matsuoka)
