SUNSPEL — UNDERSTATED BRITISH FASHION MADE ITS WAY TO BERLIN

The plain white tee is an icon of summer fashion – everyone wants one, it looks good on everyone. But where to find it? The British label Sunspel, founded in 1860, offers a solution. In fact, that’s exactly what it’s known for: minimalist classics like T-shirts – whether crew neck, V-neck, or Riviera Polo, donned by the likes of Daniel Craig’s James Bond. So what makes Sunspel basics so special? The company exclusively uses Egyptian and Sea Island cotton, distinguished by their especially soft and silky feel. To this day, the clothes are manufactured in Sunspel’s own factory near Nottingham. Last week (on May 20th, 2016), the company opened its first German location in Berlin Mitte, a store as straightforward as the clothes themselves: the current collection is presented in three-dimensional wood frames made of English ash. In addition to shirts, it also includes pants, jackets, knitwear, and much more, for women and men alike. Anyone who wants to spend summer dressed simply but well should definitely stop by.
