TCHOBAN FOUNDATION: AN ARCHITECTURAL SKETCHBOOK

The Tchoban Foundation is featured in our book Cee Cee Berlin No2. Get the book here.

I don’t know any good artists or designers who can’t put their ideas to paper with their hands. In my eyes, those are the most beautiful drawings: vague scribbles; rapidly laid down lines of the first ideas; the beginning of a long process of a (hopefully) successful architectural work. Sergei Tchoban: architect, illustrator, and collector, founded the Tchoban Foundation in 2009 with this principle in mind. An impressive collection of architectural drawings is the museum’s focus, ranging from designs created by old masters to the first sketches of star architect Zaha Hadid. Meanwhile, the library presents a fantastic research opportunity for lovers of drawing, design, and fine lines. (Text: Milena Kalojanov / Photos: Roland Halbe, Patricia Parinejad)
