TO BEEF OR NOT TO BEEF: THE STEAKS ARE HIGH BUT DELICIOUS

TO BEEF OR NOT TO BEEF: THE STEAKS ARE HIGH BUT DELICIOUS

Pass by the minimal interior of this place and you would never guess it’s a traditional Italian restaurant. But, as the name and menu imply – it’s all about the meat. Italian meat, that is. You will mostly discover regional classics such as Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Florentine T-bone steak, which has matured for at least 20 days. “We source our meat directly from Dario Cecchini, the most famous butcher in Tuscany” says restaurant manager Giacomo Mannucci. Served on wooden boards, the steak arrives — crispy on the outside, tender, pink, medium rare and soft on the inside. Servings are typically 250 grams per person and come with seasonal side dishes like grilled eggplant and potatoes. Vegetarian? Don’t worry. There are meatless dishes on the weekly menu too. (Text: Laura Storfner)
