ZABRISKIE: PRINTED MATTER ON CULTURE AND NATURE

ZABRISKIE: PRINTED MATTER ON CULTURE AND NATURE

Kreuzberg has a couple of book shops to offer, but here’s one that truly stands apart: Zabriskie. After all, the store’s namesake, Zabriskie Point, refers to Michelangelo Antonioni’s famous counterculture film and the area where Foucalt first dropped acid. So, what can you expect? Books with a bite. Like its name implies, Zabriskie has a love for culture and counterculture, the avant-garde, the exotic. Owners, Lorena and Jean-Marie, carefully curate magazines and books specializing in culture that flies below the mainstream radar — from drugs to outsider art. Paw through pages at their reading room or bring a book home — either way, you’ll be the star of the next dinner party’s conversation. (Text: Lydia Willie / Photos: ig-photography.com)
