48H NEUKÖLLN — YES, ART CAN SAVE THE WORLD!

48H NEUKÖLLN — YES, ART CAN SAVE THE WORLD!

The art festival 48h Neukölln will be taking places this weekend (26.-28.6.2015). The interdisciplinary concept is a culmination of film, theater, exhibition and guided tours. According to the theme “S.O.S. — Art Saves the World”, the artists represent themselves as rescuers for refugees. Of course, we do not take this literally. But the fact is, art can and will connect us to each other, despite all the social, economic and digital dangers of our time. One topic will be on escaping; a reading on Friday will tell personal stories. It is important to note that during the 48 hours, there are ample opportunities to get involved with the projects, for example with Beuys3000. The message: everybody can be an artist – thus everybody can save the world. (Text: Anna-Lena Charbonnier / Photo: left: Florian Rexroth, Bottom: Andy King, top: Martin Steffens)
