It all started with eight friends. With a shared passion for good drinks, a group of Berlin buddies decided to make their own prosecco, a move which snowballed into sparkling wine project Acht+1. Launched at the end of 2020, the brand is a collaboration with sparkling wine producer Bouvet Ladubay and the family-run Sekthaus Raumland from Rheinhessen and the Palatinate. Together, the team have created a collection of three elegant and fruity sparkling wines: Réserve, Blanc de Blancs and the limited edition Acht+Cevin Parker, which comes in a bottle individually designed by the Berlin artist. All the wines are vegan, organic and sustainably produced using traditional bottle fermentation. They’re an ideal dinner companion and make a nice statement drink for your next party or after-work get-together. But these bubbles aren’t just tasty: by buying them you can support the environment too. With every bottle of Acht+1 sparkling wine sold, a tree is planted by the Eden Project to help support reforestation. The ecology project in Cornwall on England’s south coast saves old and rare plant species from extinction and works to conserve resources. We never thought bubbles could help biodiversity, but we are here for it.
