BARETTINO COFFEE & PISTOLS — ITALIAN DELIGHTS IN REUTERKIEZ

Djamila and Maria’s experience in gastronomy adds up to 15 years, they share four letters in their first names and now co-own a café called Barettino. Excellent coffee and Italian treats are served at the bar. The bread comes from an Italian stone oven, the cold cuts are sliced freshly in store, and the coffee beans are from a fair trade non-marketing organization. The interior matches Maria’s sneakers: classic with hints of green and pink, colorful yet comfy. Their menu too has lovely details. The panini sandwiches are named after mythological figures that give you clues as to what kind of flavor you may expect. Sometimes small open air concerts take place on Saturdays in front of the café with neighbors dropping by. People know one another in Neukölln but Barettino’s Facebook page will keep you updated.
