Chocolate is good for your soul. Chocolate made by cocoa manufacturer Belyzium is even good for the salvation of your soul. The two owners, Florian Schülke and Klaus Boels, are taste gurus. They will take their time to explain the differences in the chocolate varieties they carry to each customer. Whether it is 78% or 98% cocoa, with or without salt, pepper, cherry, or coffee – the black gold will melt on your tongue leaving a lasting impression on how real chocolate should taste. At Belyzium, the process between tree to mouth – from grinding the beans from their own plantation in Belize to forming the bars – is done by the owners. This process takes up to 20 hours, resulting in a range of unique tasting chocolates. And they’re organic and vegan to boot. The cocoa husk is used for tea and cocoa whiskey, rum and gin are in the makings. This place is all about slow food and providing superb quality chocolate to the bona-fide chocoholics.
