Few things are as predictable as the millennial pressure to run a half marathon by 30. For the past few years, witnessed many of my friends on the shared running app — when they once collected Barbies, now they collect Kudos on Strava. I’m proving to myself and my Strava followers that I’m serious about running this Sunday (06.04.2025), by completing the Berlin Half Marathon. There are many ways to prepare for a half marathon, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you shouldn’t do it alone. Run clubs help with training and pre-race anxiety, as do friends with signs along the route motivating you during the race. Together with lululemon, the Midnight Runners team is making sure you have both of these covered. On Friday (04.04.), the preparation program kicks off with a five-kilometer Shake-Out Run in Mitte, where everyone will run at their own pace and come together at several workout stops. On Saturday at lunchtime, it’s time for some sign-making. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love seeing their friends cheering them on with words of encouragement? So, bring everyone along on Saturday to guarantee the signs look great. There’ll be drinks and snacks for the necessary carb-loading. Whether at the start line or on the sidelines, I’ll see you on Sunday — and I expect great outfits, great signs, or both if you’re feeling ambitious.
