BLACK MOON — COLD BREW COFFEE BY GOOD SPIRITS

BLACK MOON — COLD BREW COFFEE BY GOOD SPIRITS

Are you scared you might fall asleep before the “blood moon” appears? We know the solution: “Black Moon,” a cold brew coffee made from Kenyan beans (Single Origin Washed Kenya Arabica for all coffee nerds) by Berlin-based coffee brandGood Spirits. Their cold brew comes in nicely designed little bottles – handy for those who are planning to watch the moon outside and lovely on your shelf. And just in case you’re not yet familiar with the idea of cold brew, it’s not just chilled coffee but, true to its name, it’s made with cold water, or precisely extracted over 24 hours using filtered, energized water. The result is less sour than regular coffee, yet comes with the full flavor and 100% caffeine. If you’re planning to party all night long, you might want to try Black Moon with Gin & Tonic (see Facebookfor tips). Or try our summer favorite of 2015 with just Tonic water. But as for me, I like this specific cold brew not just with moon light but with rays of sunlight as well, because there’s nothing more refreshing than a sip of chilled, excellent coffee. Yes, in winter too. Where can you get it? At Goodies in Prenzlauer Berg, Filter House in Graefestrasse, or see here for a full list of stockists. (Text: Nina Trippel)
