FRÜHSTÜCK 3000: THE BREAKFAST POP-UP THAT BREAKS ALL THE RULES

FRÜHSTÜCK 3000: THE BREAKFAST POP-UP THAT BREAKS ALL THE RULES

You’re never more than 200m from avocado toast and poached egg. Ever since the first wave of Antipodean cafes brought brunch culture to Berlin, it can certainly feel that way. Enter pop-up breakfast Frühstück 3000. A deliberate response to the ubiquitous avo-based brunch, the series is the creation of former luxury hotel chefs Maxi, Martin and Lukas, whose life’s work is making “Berlin’s Better Breakfast”. The result is a changing four-course menu that does things differently, so expect the unexpected: apple juice and tarragon granita, breaded baked egg, and gluttonously deconstructed banana bread. Whatever menu awaits, be assured it will be comforting enough to tackle the worst Sunday hangovers, yet so innovative and well-constructed that it will stick in your mind long after – provided you don’t go too wild with the unlimited crémant. Next week the F3k disruptors are heading to veggie institution Cookies Cream (11.08.2019), rewriting the Frühstück–rules again – this time meat-free.
