TIMOROUS BEASTIES: THE WALLPAPER AND TEXTILE STUDIO SERVING STATEMENT GRAPHICS AND LAVISH PATTERNS

Your home interior is never quite finished – at least not until you’ve added those final touches such as wallpaper and textiles. After all, most of us want a rug in the living room or some curtains in the bedroom. Helping you furnish your flat with flair is Timorous Beasties, the textile studio that has been bringing Scottish punk to wallpapers, fabrics and cushions since 1990. You can now add rugs to that list with the brand’s Art Rug collection of provocative and exotic carpet styles. The designs are inspired by the iridescent and often outlandish patterns created by Timorous Beasties founders Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, whose signature wallpapers are celebrated for their irreverent chic. Using a variety of materials – from natural linens and cottons to cloth made from recycled plastic bottles – the Timorous Beasties range is designed in Glasgow and manufactured in the UK and Europe.

You can see the wallpaper and textile collections up close at the brand’s Schöneberg showroom which, with its high ceilings and concrete floors is the ideal canvas for the striking designs. Visits are by appointment or during opening hours, though we’d recommend putting 19.05.2022 in your calendar: from 16h you can visit the Art Rugs Collection Preview, giving you a sneak peek at the new pieces. Part of the Open Berlin & Studio Open Night from Berlin Design Week (12.–22.05), the launch also gives you the chance to check out the full Timorous Beasties range while enjoying a drink. Whether it’s statement graphics or lavish patterns, the designs will help you make your interior bright, bold and beautiful.
