“Take to the streets together” is the motto for the 8th of March. So let’s do what you can never do enough of: go out and listen to women*. We follow them into galleries, onto crowded dance floors, and over wine glasses. Here are CC’s Calendar picks for International Women’s Day. Our first beacon of hope (a woman*) awaits in Kreuzberg at the Berlinische Galerie. On Friday (06.03.2026), Photography. The Oeuvre by Christa Mayer will be presented. Mayer is an artist who made her mark in the early 1980s at the Werkstatt für Photographie, founded by Michael Schmidt. Her work stays persistently close to the human subject — meticulous, often vulnerable. The newly released “Catalogue raisonné” collects her life’s work, with Carolin Förster, Maren Lübbke-Tidow, and Rebecca Wilton in conversation. Entry is free, and no registration is required. Also up close to the human form are the designs of Kasia Kucharska. The fashion designer merges traditional craftsmanship with new technologies and materials, including biodegradable latex. On Friday (06.03.), her Sample Sale offers a chance to discover pieces of this avant-garde collection. Equality also means creating space — for jewelry, for example, on Saturday (07.03.) at Miglė’s Archive Sale at Atelier Sud. Miglė creates handmade, gender-neutral jewelry in Berlin and Kyiv. Classics are made from recycled materials, and sample and one-of-a-kind pieces are waiting to find new wearers. Another sacred space is Kink, where Fruit invites you to dance into International Women’s Day: on Women’s Day Eve on Saturday (07.03.), half the bar belongs to the collective that creates cozy spaces for FLINTA*.
The back area of Kink turns into a club with a deep house line-up. This is a warm invitation to queer women* over twenty-five. On Sunday, you’re spoiled for choice — the main thing is to get out there! Here’s a quick demo rundown: Feministisch – Solidarisch – Gewerkschaftlich, the Purple Ride (FLINTA* only), Feminists Fighting Fascism, plus a community gathering to catch your breath in between marches. Sunday (08.03.) also brings everything we love: pleasure and community. Moyo celebrates its official launch at the Orangerie Neukölln. What started as an idea, growing through intimate dinners and workshops, is now evolving into a platform for culinary gatherings – a space to form bonds, savor good food, and enjoy aesthetics. Bask in the afternoon sun (fingers crossed) with fine finger food and stay until the late evening for live performances and DJ sets. If you want to celebrate the day with bread, butter, and olives, good wine is promised: at Nomi, the Women’s Day toast (08.03.) is on. Flor Fontanarossa highlights four wines from female winemakers in Germany, Spain, Italy, and Argentina, centering female perspectives in a sector long dominated by men. (No prior wine knowledge required.) For pre-half-marathon motivation, Romeo’s on Lausitzer Straße offers a sporty treat for running duos until Sunday (08.03.): Refuel With A Friend. Show that you and your running buddy have completed at least five kilometers, and when ordering two sandwiches, get two drinks on the house. After the runner’s high comes the sandwich! That alliances are best forged over food will be proven on Tuesday (10.03.) with a Korean pizza pop-up at Gazzo. Dotori takes over the oven, serving kimchi, aged cheese, fermented sauces, makgeolli, and their own take on Buffalo Soft Serve. No reservations needed. While you wait: popcorn. In the meantime, take to the streets together!
