This weekend we’re excited to make the rounds and get our hands on the latest contemporary artist books from around the globe at Friends With Books. Gather inspiration and add to your collection, but also take note of the variety of performances, discussions, readings and presentations where you can delve deeper into the world of art books and publishing. This Saturday (23.9.17) at 16h, we’ll be checking into a discussion “On the Passion of Publishing and Collecting Art Books” with publisher Holger Liebs (Hatje Cantz) and art expert Albrecht Kastein. Then, we’ll head back on Sunday (24.9.17) to finish up our browsing of the beautiful books and take in a discussion with artist Gitte Villesen, plus a screening of her film, “Deeply immersed in the contents of a learning stone” – which focuses on gender construction and power dynamics. Other exhibitors include Berlin’s Peres Projects, London’s Mack, and Paris’ Lapin-Canard. Whether you’re already an art book fanatic or just simply art book curious, Friends With Books is the perfect place to test out the water or dive right in.
