Until recently, the idea of having access to the pantry of a restaurant like Otto wouldn’t have seemed possible. But now you can have first pick of a range of handmade goods straight from their kitchen to yours. Chef Vadim Otto Ursus and his team have launched Otto Open Pantry, a pickup/delivery service for pantry goods, fresh foods, preserves and more. The aromatic goulash that we tried was one of the best we’ve had, while the wild herb salad and linseed crackers were delightfully subtle. Alongside their own creations the pantry features foods from Otto’s friends, such as Nussmuss by Pars and raviolis from Teig & Füllung. As for drinks, their elderberry and woodruff syrups are a bright addition to lemonade or sparkling water while the handmade kombucha is a real hit. For something stronger, house Sommelier Cate Gowers has created a selection of liqueurs and wine packages (available in ‘funky’ or ‘classic’ – so you can choose your own adventure). The service is open Wednesday to Sunday, and you can easily check online if delivery is available to your postcode. (Text: Scarlett Peeters / Photos: Cate Gowers)
