I keep hearing that there is nothing new in the west. To this, I’d argue that Waldorf Astoria Berlin has opened its doors recently; the Bikinihaus conversion is underway; and there is the Stue Hotel. The building of the former Royal Danish delegation was built in 1930 in Tiergarten. The Stue – this boutique designer hotel with 80 indidividually styled rooms opened in December of 2012. Upon entering the house, I immediately realize how history and modern architecture click. The grand staircase to the rooms pass by small libraries, luring me to linger. I caught a glimpse of the kitchen led by chef Paco Perez, and it promises culinary delights at its best. The lounge calls for relaxation, enjoyment and philosophy. Am I thrilled? Yes! This is exactly what was missing in this town and I shall gladly return for another visit.
