CHERRY BLOSSOMS SPOTTED: TOP FIVE VIEWING SPOTS IN BERLIN

CHERRY BLOSSOMS SPOTTED: TOP FIVE VIEWING SPOTS IN BERLIN

Nothing marks spring quite like the blooming of cherry blossom trees, symbolic of inner peace and serenity. They made their way from Japan to Berlin thanks to a TV Asahi fundraiser following the reunification of Germany. With the beautiful clusters of the whitish pink petals dotted around the city, we’ve sussed out the top five places in Berlin to view them. Cherry blossoms made their first appearance in Berlin under the Glienicke bridge near Potsdam. In Marzahn, the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Gardens of the World on 14.04.2019 offers a chance to celebrate with dance and drum performances from 12–17h. Schwedter Straße by the Mauerpark is also lined with the beautiful trees, while Lohmühle bridge offers a peaceful viewing spot on the Landwehr canal. And lastly, the Cherry Blossom Festival on TV–Asahi–Kirschblütenallee on 28.04.2019 is one of the most cherished in the city, with performances, market vendors and Japanese cuisine all honoring the exquisite flora.
