RE CUCINA: COMPACT RESTAURANT FOR CASUAL ITALIAN CUISINE IN GRAEFEKIEZ — NOW TO TAKE AWAY

While this gem of an italian restaurant opened in 2019, for us Re Cucina was a summer 2020 discovery. We spent warm evenings sat on the simple curbside benches, but things are pleasant inside too, with just five tables for a casual, family atmosphere. Founders Allegra and Giuseppe from northern Italy are as warm, charming and casual as the cuisine itself. The small menu is vegetarian-friendly and highly seasonal: the handmade burrata with peach and hazelnut and the autumnal pumpkin casarecce now give way to a wintery wild boar lasagne. As for the ingredients themselves, the organic produce is sourced from both Brandenburg pastures and Italian suppliers. Re Cucina fits every function, whether an intimate dinner for two or a group feast where you share the whole menu with a bottle of wine. And while this compact restaurant has had to close its doors to diners during the lockdown, you can still get the dishes to go – just the thing to bring the summer back into a winter-tinged living room.
