If you aren’t put off by Putin’s portrait behind the counter and the rather plush feel, you will most likely become a frequent patron of this shop. Sporting a polyester tracksuit, Dmitro Romanko resembles a boxing trainer rather than a shoe repair craftsman; which is only enhanced by his grumpy welcome asking if I didn’t love my shoes. The result, however, was sensational. My boots were nicely cleaned, perfectly reconstructed, and waterproofed.
