Right in the heart of Mitte, a new spot for design is about to open. With She Who Saw, interior stylist and designer Sandra Baumer is launching a new shop for carefully curated pieces. After almost twenty years in Berlin’s design scene (including her formative role in the development of Berlin’s Hay store), Sandra creates a space that reflects her personal perspective on design. One that combines Scandinavian clarity with Japanese sensibility. The selection features design objects from emerging and established designers and labels based in Copenhagen and Tokyo. Rather than following short-lived trends, the curation is guided by a clear mindset: high-quality materials, timeless design, and thoughtful craftsmanship that enrich everyday life. Among the first brands featured in the store are Akua Objects with hand-blown glass pieces, Lié Studio with jewellery and accessories, Ichikō Ichie with handmade natural incense, Them Objects with design objects and furniture, and, of course, a touch of Hay.
Different design traditions meet in a shared language shaped by reduction, quality, and careful attention to detail. The works of artist Tim Tatenroth, created during his time in Japan, add another layer to the store. Through his observations of the everyday, they seamlessly integrate into Sandra’s world. She Who Saw positions itself not as a conventional concept store, but as a space for objects, inspiration, and cultural exchange. In the future, Sandra Baumer also plans to offer interior styling and creative consulting for both private and public spaces. She Who Saw opens on 20.06.2026.
