Comparing the tofu from Teto Tofu to its supermarket equivalent is like comparing a silk scarf to a potato sack – that’s how big the difference is. This Berlin bean curd maker has turned tofu into a fine art. After extensive research in Japan, owners Tomoko Yamada-Schneider and her partner Joscha Schneider have dedicated themselves to the ancient craft of tofu production – using local soybeans of course. The duo deliver by bike to Berlin’s top restaurants, delicatessens and shops and you can order the tofu for pickup online. A full selection of Teto’s products (including delicious biscuits) are sold every Saturday at the Boxhagener Platz market in Friedrichshain. To find out more about the pair’s tofu, you can chat with them at their stall or go one better and join their workshop on 21.05.2022 at the Schlossgut Finowfurt manor house in Brandenburg. There you can discover the different steps of tofu production and sample various types of fresh tofu and soybeans.
