For me “home” is a never-ending project. There’s always something to work on or an item that promises to make life better, easier or simply more beautiful. Thus, The Home Project is my shop. I always find beautifully crafted items for everyday life here. Portuguese-born Álbio Nascimento and Kathi Sterzig, the duo behind the design studio, studied at various design schools across Europe and decided to settle in Berlin. They opened their showroom in Neukölln in late 2013and it has slowly turned into a shop with increasingly more products to take home right away. Many of their items are linked to southern European classical tradition. Goods are sourced from little workshops in Spain and Portugal but some are made down the street by a metalworking company on Hobrechtstrasse. You’ll find lovely stackable boxes, red clay carafes, metal and cork lamp shades or little side tables. Idefinitely recommend visiting the shop to get a complete view of their products and atmosphere, but you can also browse and shop online and turn your home into a (southern) castle.
