Natural cosmetics produced locally? That was Fabian and Karin’s lightbulb moment in 2016 and they’ve been selling sustainable, vegan cosmetics ever since. Urban Cosmetics is as simple as it sounds: cruelty-free, unisex cosmetic products, handmade in small quantities at a Berlin workshop with only the purest, most natural ingredients. My favorites are the bath salts with coconut milk, rosemary and rose petals and the three-step facial care set which includes a facial cleanser, a hyaluron moisturizing serum and a facial raspberry seed oil. The moisturizer and oil are sold separately, so you can decide what ratio of the two products to apply according to the season and time of day. The visionary spirit of the founders does not stop here: their idea is to develop natural cosmetics in an urban context of art, culture and city gardening, while staying true to their motto: “In editions we grow, in artists we invest!” This means collaborating with street artists like Neisscaps, whose special edition baseball caps are available at the Kreuzberg store.
