Fresh, fresh, fresh! The upper end of Brunnenstrasse is offering a new reason to leave your desk at noon in order to satisfy your cravings for some healthy vegetarian food. A place called Volta was there first, followed by Joris. Since last August this place has been all about “healthy home-style” cooking. Choose your basic ingredients, like potatoes or salads, and select various toppings; I got a mix of avocado, mushrooms, chick peas, and beetroots infused with raspberry vinaigrette. Soups are also on the menu for cold days and for those of you with a sweet tooth, there are baked goods too. The atmosphere is rustic with blue-and-white tiles, wooden walls and open kitchen with herb pots on the tables. Though often in Berlin the service ruins your dining experience, not at Joris. Enjoy! I am definitely going back.
