You’ll find all sorts of things at Willa Berlin, from jewelry and clothing to kitchen utensils and tableware. But there’s one thing that unites the selection in this Kreuzberg shop: a firm focus on good design and craftsmanship. Located just opposite Markthalle Neun, the store was opened by designers Stefanie Hartwig and Sarah Harfmann in November 2021. The intention was simple: the duo wanted to bring together items from their favorite local makers and designers – as well as their own pieces – in one place. Hartwig is the founder of Plietsh, a label for jewelry that since 2009 has been combining silver forms with natural objects found on the streets of Berlin. Harfmann founded her eponymous brand in 2010, creating a range of timeless wool and linen garments which now includes “Harfmann Piccolino”, a super cute kidswear range which includes matching grown-up and children’s garments.
Besides the pair’s own designs, the expertly curated Willa selection includes gorgeous stripey pastel ceramics created by wheel-thrown clay in Berlin by Chris’s Ceramics, unique multi-media mini wall hangings by Studio Hammel and gorgeous beeswax candles in groovy wooden holders by Ovo Things Candles in Lithuania. And: if you’re looking for some little stocking fillers for Christmas, you can also find tasty Lebkuchen from Pfeffer & Frost packed in ultra cute boxes. There’s no excuse not to pay a visit…
