FORECAST FESTIVAL — IMAGINING FUTURE POSSIBILITIES AT HKW

A soundtrack to the post-human future, an experimental science fiction radio drama, a critical alternative to traditional museology presentation: When six emerging talents are mentored by six luminaries in their respective fields, the results are bound to be intriguing. In May 2018, the Forecast Forum saw museum director Tulga Beyerle, curator David Elliott, video artist Omer Fast, musician Holly Herndon, artist Laura Lima, and curator and producer Peter Meanwell each select one ascendant young artist to mentor on a project in their respective disciplines of film, sound, radio, exhibition design and artistic intervention. Now the ensuing results are being presented at Forecast Festival, held at Haus der Kulturen der Welt this Friday and Saturday (12.-13.10.2018). To top it off, on 13.10 at 18h, the festival will present a new transnational project, Housing the Human. Prototypes will be presented alongside discussions on possible future scenarios across architecture, urban planning and design. The future’s looking — and sounding — bright.
