Reincarnated after a long life as an umbrella supplier, Amore is the store you desperately want in your neighborhood. Owner Kerstin Finger is sweet as a button, and her store is an amalgamation of her most-loved Italian finds. From assorted tartufi, pasta and sauces, to a not-your-average umami paste, and even select stationery, it’s the mix that makes it. Some products are rare goods you’d most likely find in the back of your nonna’s storage cupboard, while others have a “designer” quality to them. Notebooks and pens are neatly aligned next to bulgy panettone cakes. Italian literature sits beside chunky bars of Sicilian nougat. This shop is like a ray of sunshine on a cold day. Not only for its unique assortment of products, but also for its décor and design: Kerstin’s background in graphic design is written all over the place.
