Traveling from Norway to Venice on foot is quite a challenge, both physical and mental. Catharine H. Kølle made this walk through the pre-industrial European imperial world in 1841. Performance artist Karen Røise Kiellandfollowed the same route in 2011, but this time through the post-industrial European Union. In her piece “A Slow Escape”, the physical trip becomes a psychological tracing, revealing strategic wisdom necessary when facing the unknown; a poetic intervention only for three nights, so don’t miss out.
