Next week will be a whirlwind of art as Berlin Art Week is launching. Starting this fall, Berlin will officially be dedicating one week to art; this will undoubtedly help map the city as an art capital than ever before. At least that is the idea behind Berlin Art Week, now that it is backed by the senate in hopes to turn this city into an important marketplace for the arts post Art Forum and become the counterbalance to new art fairs such as Art Basel Hong Kong and Dubai. Needless to say, it’s going be a busy week: 100 openings here, art fairs there, crashing a couple of parties in between, rushing through the exhibitions, artists spotting, canceling finissages, then going wild at Kingsize. Fantastic! But what are the must-sees? ARTBerlin has selected four highlights for Cee Cee – more recommendations will be posted on ARTberlin.de in the following days.
