Beißbeere means chili in German, and this place certainly lives up to it’s name. Expect nothing less than spicy burgers (available in veggie too), fire fries (potato or sweet potato), hot homemade dips, and chili-infused drinks. If you’re a spicy food lover, rest assured your mouth will stay scorched from beginning to end. Sissies can order regular fries and non-spiked beer. If you can’t get enough, take home some of the chili plants growing on the rooftop and in the basement, planted by the young owner, chef, and entrepreneur himself, Hannes. Beißbeere is not just another burger joint however, it’s actually a place for chili. More dishes such as chili con carne will be added to the menu later, but various products from hot sauces to chocolates that bite back are already available. For now, simply enjoy their awesome, no fuss hot burger, sandwiched between sweet organic buns made in Kreuzberg. Before leaving the joint, make sure to order a shot of chili vodka to cut straight through the heaviness. P.S. Beißbeere is next door to Lavanderia and Lava.
