Together with more than 50 partners – from museums and exhibition spaces to private collections – Berlin Art Week (15–19.09.2021) is ringing in the city’s art-filled autumn for the tenth time this year. This anniversary will be marked at the BAW Garten, located on the grounds of the Kindl-Zentrum in Neukölln. As part of Explore Berlin Art Week, this location will host artist talks and workshops, music by DJs from neighboring Schwuz plus lunch by artist and chef Caique Tizzi. Also worth putting on the to-see list are the luminous color studies by young painter Tamina Amadyar, who is exhibiting as one of the Ars Viva prize winners at the Brücke-Museum. Meanwhile, Alicja Kwade’s show “In Absence”, which presents new works that can be interpreted as abstract self-portraits, can be visited at the Berlinische Galerie. Also not to be missed are Thea Djordjadze’s enigmatic sculptural works made of plaster, metal and foam at Gropius Bau. Over at the Akademie der Künste is Nothingtoseeness, which explores how emptiness and silence become visible in space. If you want to get a sneak peak at all this, take a look at the digital Journal for photo spreads, interviews and more.
