CHROME STORE: CONTEMPORARY VINTAGE WITH HIGH FASHION FEEL

“You can´t find some of these brands anywhere else in Berlin” says Jochen, showing me a garment from Sissi Goetze. Chrome Store opened in August 2015, selling well selected clothes, shoes and accessories. Among them are new collections by Berlin designers, such as Xenia Bous and Thone Negrón, mixed with contemporary vintage all for both women and men. The vintage, pieces are mainly high fashion brands such as Prada or Jil Sandler, but also specially picked items from chains like COS or American Apparel if they fit the stores quality-standard and style vision. The interior is clean and minimalist with sleek black walls and chrome racks. It would be hard to guess that this is a vintage store – all the clothes look brand new – the lower price being the only thing that differs from the usual exclusive boutique. Jochen explains that his boyfriend Christian Stemmler is a stylist and some of the clothes have just been worn once for a shoot.(Text: Isabelle Kagelius / Photo: Jochen Drewes)
