Here is our weekly round-up of Berlin’s best events and activities this weekend. Saturday and Sunday (12-13.10.2024) start with a bit of eye candy: Haus Mitte is opening for an exclusive pop-up with jewelry by Magdalena Šťastníková. From Friday (11.-13.10.), the Miss Read Book Festival will once again take place at HKW Berlin. Look forward to panel discussions, film screenings and workshops shedding light on the intersections of art, activism and mental health. On Saturday (12.10.), Spike Art Festival is happening. Writer and art critic Estelle Hoy will read from her latest book “Saké blue: Selected Writings”, followed by an exclusive hologram reading by Chris Kraus and a conversation with editor Antonia Carrara. If you’re in a party mood, Anahita Sadighi invites you to “4 THE DANCERS — An Autumn Day Party” from her “Loft” series at Atelier Berlin. From 2 p.m. to midnight, the Atelier in Prinzenstraße will be transformed into a dance floor, with the drinks provided, of course.
If you want music to set the tone for your weekend: Kreuzberg listening bar Unkompress is hosting the “Berlin X Seoul” event on Saturday. Three DJs will be spinning vinyl for six hours and are sure to create a fun atmosphere. The program will be complemented by a food and natural wine pop-up — CZ wines from Bare Wines and fried chicken from Eating Fantasy. For those who can’t attend, the DJ sets will be streamed live via YouTube. And last but not least, on Sunday (13.10.), the Viniculture wine store team will take over the legendary Diener Tattersall for an evening. Here, 130 years of pub tradition meet 40 years of wine culture. The kitchen team will serve classic Berlin dishes such as eggs in mustard sauce, boulettes and schnitzel, while Viniculture curates the matching wines. Bianka and Daniel Schmitt will present their wines and talk about the switch to natural wine. So grab your friends and enjoy a weekend of event hopping.
