I love going to Pappa e Ciccia. I mean it. That’s also why I immortalised it in my novel “Winternähe”. Lola and Shlomo, my two protagonists, fall in the love there. And me? Yes, I too have fallen in love there. On many occasions. A week doesn’t pass without me dining there at least once. And that since its opening in 2006 – so over ten years ago. My all-time favorite is the salsiccia pasta. I’ve probably eaten this dish a hundred times. I don’t just come for the pasta, though, but also for the owner: Nicole Schuman. Formerly a photographer, Nicole found her Italian soulmate and moved Milan, then packed up all her culinary knowledge and moved to Berlin. Now, her experiences are being compiled in a cookbook, co-produced with Antje Wewer. Today (26.1.2017) is the last chance to help make their dream a reality through their crowdfunding campaign. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. (Text: Mirna Funk)
