I’m in love. With a boat. One that rocks gently and allows me to go ashore whenever I feel like. My darling is anchored in Rummelsburg, and is called the “Modern Houseboat” for good reason: this simple yet modern-chic houseboat features a lovely bathroom, a comfy bed, a fully equipped open kitchen, a modular couch, a small fireplace and an extra bed for guests. The best part is of course the view. Glance out through the panoramic windows, and you will see reeds on the shore, swans swim by, the Stralau peninsula and even the TV tower in the far distance. In case you need to go back to the city, it’s easy enough; hop on the tram to Ostkreuz or take one of the bikes and you’ll find yourself in Friedrichshain in 10 minutes. If you’re a Berlin resident, this could be your perfect, easy weekend getaway (minimum stay is 3 nights). If you’re a traveler visiting Berlin, this would be a waterfront holiday and city adventure in one.
