Change can be good – particularly within our own four walls. But when it comes to furniture, how can we swap the urge for constant renewal for something more lasting and sustainable? You can find the answer at Objekte unserer Tage, the Berlin furniture retailer founded in 2015. From the beginning, owners Christoph, David and Reinhard put durability and regional design and production front and center. You can see the results of this philosophy at Haus of OUT, a shop that the trio opened in 2019 above a Kreuzberg Hinterhof. The space highlights how versatile and pragmatic OUT’s designs are: the “Wedekind” table with its floating top comes in various lengths and wood variations, while the elegant black “Wagner” chair has both “everyday” and dining room options to pick. Besides these classics are some real eye-catchers, like the cloud-shaped “Levi” modular sofa which, like the whole range, is domestically produced to order. And if you can’t manage to come to the shop, don’t worry: the pieces are also available online. (Text: Hanna Komornitzyk / Photos: Anne Deppe for OUT)
