ARTISAN SOAPS ENGRAVED WITH KOREAN CHARACTERS BY SOAP SOOP

As soon as you open your delicately wrapped bar of Soap Soop you immediately see, smell and feel what this soap brand is all about: turning the everyday act of washing into a sensory experience. With her hand and body soaps, founder Hanna Kang wanted to turn the experience of washing and bathing into something for all the senses. Her scented bars are handmade in Berlin using cold-pressed essential oils like sandalwood, lemongrass and pink grapefruit. Soap Soop combines Hanna’s eye for design – she also runs a branding agency named Woojoo (after her dog) – with her desire to make soap. The project began in 2019 when she returned to her home country of Korea to attend a course in soap making. Hanna’s eye for design shows in the little details, like how each bar is engraved with its ingredients and a little Korean symbol for forest 숲 (Soop) as a testament to the natural, vegan ingredients used. Meadowroot, natural indigo from Korea, bamboo charcoal and spirulina are some of these gentle ingredients that make the bars perfect for your hands and body. One of our favorites is the cedar wood, poppy seed and charcoal bar that looks like cookies and cream. Developed over two years, Soap Soop currently has 12 recipes – you can check them out on the website, or buy a bespoke soap voucher to buy some yourself.
