JOHANNA BARDORZ IS COLLECTING MUSHROOMS IN ALT GOLM

Alt Golm is part of a town called Rietz-Neuendorf located at the foot of the “Lauseberge” which towers over with a peak at (gasp) 139.5 meters. The mixed forest above the village provides for a perfect walk. In summertime (note to self for next year) you’ll find lots of blueberries and now, during the season of fall, there’s a hint of mushrooms in the woods. Once you’ve found some edible mushrooms you can’t stop collecting them and you’ll return home with a full basket. However, bringing a mushroom guide is highly recommended. If you’re lucky you’ll find some Cauliflower Mushrooms – the young ones are excellent with a great aroma and a nutty flavor. The best way to enter the forest is by leaving your car in Alt Golm and then going up the hill. This way you start out sporty and end up culinary.
