We all know how to make coffee, but what’s the story behind the beans that end up in your cup every morning? The Coffee Festival Berlin (27.09–27.09.2025) asks this and many other questions, and spends two days focusing on coffee, its culture, and the lifestyle that goes with it. Roasters have traveled from far away, or come from your neighborhood. They’re traveling from Vilnius, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Cologne, and Munich to get us excited about their beans. They’ll be standing alongside well-known Berlin names such as Five Elephant, 19grams, Coffee Circle, Populus, and Nano — to name a few! Over 30 roasters are bringing their coffee and will be on-site so you can taste it and ask everything you’ve always wanted to know about coffee. And if that’s not enough, there will be several cuppings to sip and talk shop with the pros. The founders of Circle Coffee and Communal Coffee, among others, will be on stage talking about coffee prices and cultivation. So this is your chance to listen to the experts.
If you’re less interested in heated discussions and more interested in relaxing, Friday ends with the CWB Awards ceremony and casual mingling with free beer. Or come by on Saturday (27.09), grab a soft serve ice cream or a drink, stroll through the halls, and find your favorite bean. Or take it easy and create your own matcha ritual with Atelier Kyo and Oatly. Afterwards, check out the Cee Cee Cups and ceramics from Berlin’s favorite brands such as Berliner Grau, Peace out Paradise, Clayground Berlin, Good Clay Sunshine, and Marilyne Blais Studio — and go home not only with coffee beans, but also with your new favorite cup. To sweeten the deal, Leipzig brand Nucao will be there with its chocolate creations. SumUp is offering sessions for small business owners, and anyone who finds founder stories exciting should not miss the talk by Nicolas Hartmann, Managing Director and CEO of Vly. He will talk about his concept of “Food as Fuel”. And if you’ve had too much caffeine? Take a breather in the Urban Garden by Atelier Gardens and maybe win a prize on Saturday’s wheel of fortune.
